It happens to me fairly often that in the middle of what should be a busy season, I find myself with a whole day where I don’t have much work to do. I sit down in the morning, answer a few emails, send out a few questions and then…nothing. I’ve contacted all my clients who I am currently working with, I’ve made my notes, done the planning for tomorrow and now I have time to work on something else. But what?
I find that this is my me time. Maybe I read a book, craft for the upcoming holiday or do a little corner cleaning around the house. More productively, I can work on my business instead of working in my business. This is when the blog post gets written, or I pow-wow with my marketing gal. I can learn a little more about my AI tools and all the tricks available in my CRM. Maybe I start a CE class or do some light reading on the IRS.gov website. These are all things that I don’t always like to do until it’s done. (type 2 fun…if you know, you know)
Like a lot of entrepreneurs, I enjoy my job, but all the hats I wear frequently fit poorly. I’m still learning which hats I want to keep in my wardrobe and which ones I want someone else to wear.
Do you know which hats fit you the best?
